Dr Andrew Elliot-Smith
Background
Dr Andrew Elliot-Smith (né Smith) is a consultant neonatologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, working across sites at both Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. He studied medicine at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating with distinction, as well as gaining a 1st Class Honours degree in infection and immunology. He went on to complete his postgraduate paediatric training, including neonatal sub-speciality training, in hospitals across London. He is a keen educationalist and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London; helping to teach the next generation of doctors about neonatology. He has extensive experience in postgraduate training too, including teaching to a range of health professions.
Publications
Dr Elliot-Smith supports the clinical research portfolio of the neonatal units at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, including as a principal investigator. He is also involved in a multi-organisation project group, aiming to increase awareness of the adult outcomes of prematurity amongst adult physicians. He is the author of two chapters in the Wiley-Blackwell published, ‘Clinical Guide to Paediatrics’ (1st Edition, 2022).
