How to find the Lindo Wing, St Mary's Hospital

Paddington station is the closest tube station to St Mary’s Hospital. It is in zone one and serves the Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Elizabeth lines. The station is approximately a four minute walk from the hospital.

Marylebone overground railway station is approximately a 14 minute walk from the hospital, or a four minute tube journey on the Bakerloo line to Paddington station.

Cash free buses

Since July 2015, you are no longer able to use cash to pay for your bus fare on London buses. Instead of cash you are able to use an  Oyster card, a  visitor Oyster card, a  contactless payment card or a  day travel card.

Paddington station operates a taxi rank, however we always recommend that you pre-book a taxi before you travel.

To request a taxi when leaving the hospital, visit the Front of house team located at the main reception on the ground floor near the hospital’s main entrance.

There is a drop-off and pick-up point directly outside the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother building (QEQM) on South Wharf Road.

Outside of these hours, there is a telephone located on the shelf at the main reception. Pick up the receiver, listen to the options and dial 1. This will automatically connect to a taxi service.

Park your bike

There are several bike racks at St Mary’s Hospital where you can park your personal bike. Please lock your bike securely when using these facilities.

Please use the Transport for London Santander cycle map to help you find a bike. There are lots of Santander cycle docking stations near St Mary’s Hospital, including:

• Winsland Street docking station (near London Street) which is situated right next to St Mary’s Hospital  here
• South Wharf Road docking station (near London Street) which is situated right next to St Mary’s Hospital  here
• Southwick Street docking station which is a  three minute walk from the hospital
• North Wharf Road docking station which is a  seven minute walk from the hospital
• Paddington Green Police Station docking station which is a  seven minute walk from the hospital and right next to Edgware Road underground station
• There are also Santander docking stations on Bayswater Road near Lancaster Gate underground station, and Boston Place near Marylebone overground station. 

When possible, we strongly encourage you to use public transport to travel to and from St Mary’s Hospital. If you decide to travel by car, please plan your journey in advance.

The hospital does not have an onsite car parking facility, but does have a pick-up and drop-off point directly outside the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother building (QEQM) on South Wharf Road.

CAR PARKING INFORMATION

All of our hospitals are within the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) which means that if you drive to your appointment, or are driven by a family member or friend, your car will need to meet the ULEZ emissions standards otherwise, you will have to pay a £12.50 daily charge.
