How to find Thames View, Charing Cross Hospital

Baron’s Court, situated in zone two on the Piccadilly line, is the closest underground station to Charing Cross Hospital. The station is approximately a nine minute walk from the hospital.

Hammersmith station is in zone two and serves the Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Piccadilly lines. The tube station is approximately a 10 minute walk or five minute bus ride from the hospital. Buses 190, 211, 220 and 295 all travel from the bus station, located next to Hammersmith underground station, to Charing Cross Hospital.

West Kensington station is in zone two on the District line and approximately a 15 minute walk from the hospital.

Cash free buses

Since July 2015, you are no longer able to use cash to pay for your bus fare on London buses. Instead of cash you are able to use an  Oyster card, a  visitor Oyster card, a  contactless payment card or a  day travel card.

Park your bike

There are several bike racks at Charing Cross Hospital where you can park your personal bike. Please lock your bike securely when using these facilities.

Santander cycles

Please use the  Transport for London Santander cycle map to help you find a bike. There are several Santander cycle docking stations near Charing Cross Hospital, including:

• Charing Cross Hospital docking station, which is situated near the back entrance of the hospital on Margravine Road
• Beryl Road docking station which is a  three minute walk from the hospital
• Manbre Road docking station which is a  four minute walk from the hospital
• Greyhound Road docking station which is a  six minute walk from the hospital
• Baron’s Court docking station which is a  eight minute walk from the hospital

Hammersmith station operates a taxi rank, however we always recommend that you pre-book a taxi before you travel.

To request a taxi when leaving the hospital, visit the Front of house team located at the main reception on the ground floor near the hospital’s main entrance.

There is a pick-up and drop-off point directly outside the hospital’s main entrance on Fulham Palace Road.

Outside of these hours, there is a telephone located on the shelf at the main reception. Pick up the receiver, listen to the options and dial 1. This will automatically connect to a taxi service.

When possible, we strongly encourage you to use public transport to travel to and from Charing Cross Hospital. If you decide to travel by car, please plan your journey in advance.We have a small number of car parking spaces. There is also a pick-up and drop-off point directly outside the hospital’s main entrance on Fulham Palace Road.

Car parking information

All of our hospitals are within the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) which means that if you drive to your appointment, or are driven by a family member or friend, your car will need to meet the ULEZ emissions standards otherwise, you will have to pay a £12.50 daily charge.
