Dr Lorin Lakasing
Background
Dr Lorin Lakasing is a highly experienced consultant obstetrician and fetal medicine specialist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Appointed as a consultant in obstetrics and fetal medicine in 2004, she has been providing private pregnancy care for over 22 years.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Lakasing is actively involved in research, with a particular interest in placental dysfunction. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the British Medical Journal and Prenatal Diagnosis.
Passionate about medical education, Dr Lakasing regularly teaches and examines both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. She has also contributed to local and national clinical guidelines and is actively involved in discussions relating to the national antenatal screening programme.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr Lakasing undertakes medico-legal reporting in cases involving adverse perinatal outcomes and medical negligence, and conducts independent reviews of maternity service provision for hospitals across the UK.
Dr Lakasing is also author of the book 'Delivering the Truth: why NHS maternity care is broken and how we can fix it together.'
