Background

Professor Mo Hamady is a leading interventional radiologist at Imperial College London, specialising in complex endovascular and image-guided treatments. His clinical interests include vascular and trauma interventional radiology, fibroid embolisation, visceral aneurysm treatment, and complex aortic intervention. He trained in core general surgery followed by clinical radiology at the American University of Beirut, before completing specialist interventional radiology training at King’s College London and clinical research at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London.

He joined Imperial College London in 2003. His research focuses on aortic stent grafting, advanced embolisation techniques, simulation training, and robotic navigation. Professor Hamady is internationally recognised for pioneering robotic endovascular intervention, including the world’s first robotic endovascular aortic intervention in 2008 and the world’s first robotic fibroid embolisation in 2012. He has authored more than 210 peer-reviewed papers and 14 book chapters, and holds leadership roles with CIRSE, BSIR, and other international professional bodies.
