Background

Dr Sudhin Thayyil trained in neonatology at Cambridge, and London, and completed a PhD in MR imaging at University College, London in 2010. He obtained an NIHR clinician scientist award and was appointed as a senior clinical lecturer and neonatal consultant at University College, London in 2011. He moved to Imperial College, London in January 2014 as a reader in neonatal medicine and head of the Weston group. He is the director of the Centre for Perinatal Neuroscience at Imperial College, London and lead a multidisciplinary team including magnetic resonance (MR) physicists, radiographers, clinical research fellows, research nurses and a clinical trials manager.
