About the service
Our elderly medicine service at Thames View, Charing Cross Hospital and the Lindo Wing, St Mary’s Hospital specialises in caring for older people who may have more complex health needs. Many of our patients live with several medical conditions, take multiple medications, or need additional support at home or in a care setting. Our focus is on providing personalised, compassionate care that supports both health and independence.
When older patients become unwell and need hospital treatment, we can provide inpatient care, as well as rehabilitation within in our hospital. We work closely with other medical specialists, allied health professionals and GPs to ensure joined‑up, well‑coordinated care.

Why choose us?
Our elderly medicine consultants specialise in caring for older people with complex health needs, including frailty, memory problems, mobility issues and long‑term conditions. We understand that health concerns in later life are often interconnected, and our approach focuses on treating the whole person and not just individual symptoms.
Our private care services provide quick access to diagnostic tests including private MRI, CT and X-ray services. Our highly experienced consultants also work across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This means you benefit from nationally recognised clinical expertise, supported by one of the UK’s leading teaching hospital groups, while enjoying the comfort and continuity of private care.
