Essential roof works at the Lindo Wing
The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital has overseen private births for generations of families since 1937 and in more recent years has also become a hub for high quality, rapid access, surgical and medical admissions.
We are carrying out essential improvement works to the roof, with work commencing end of July 2026 and expected to continue until spring 2027.
While we’re working hard to ensure minimal disruption, we would like to reassure you that:
- your care, comfort and safety remain our top priority at all times
- all works are external and are being carefully managed in line with strict hospital safety and infection control standards
- we are taking steps wherever possible to minimise disruption, including careful scheduling and close monitoring of the environment.
If you have any concerns during your stay, or if there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable, please let our team know - we are here to help.
These works are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the Lindo Wing, alongside the wider hospital estate, ensuring we continue to provide a high-quality environment for our patients and families.
We appreciate your understanding while we carry out these important improvements, which will help us continue to provide excellent care now and in the future.
