Neuropsychological assessment
We provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for adult patients presenting with neurological or suspected neurological conditions. We also provide pre and post-surgical neuropsychological assessments. Additionally, we can provide neuropsychological assessments for sports people who may have concerns about their cognitive functioning following involvement in contact sports such as rugby, football or boxing; or who may be required by their regulatory body to have a neuropsychological assessment.
The neuropsychological assessment involves tests to determine the effects of a neurological condition on cognitive, emotional and behavioural functioning, as well as any effects on personality. The assessment is usually completed in one session lasting 2-3 hours although additional sessions may be required. We provide comprehensive neuropsychological reports, which include treatment recommendations where appropriate. The process will assist patients and their families in understanding the effects of difficulties in cognitive domains such as attention, memory, visuospatial functioning, executive functioning and language skills on their ability to function in everyday life.

Our neuropsychologists have undertaken extensive post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology and hold the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QICN), which is considered the gold standard qualification for clinical neuropsychology in the UK.
