Anna shares why she chose the Lindo Wing for the birth of her two children

When Anna became pregnant for the first time, she learned that her pregnancy would be high risk. Like many expectant parents in that situation, safety, expertise and reassurance quickly became her top priorities.

Here, Anna shares how the team at the Lindo Wing supported her and her family through this precious, and at times challenging, chapter in their life.

Choosing the Lindo Wing

I became pregnant with my first child in 2023 and had challenges with my care that resulted in me and my husband deciding to research maternity services across the country. The Lindo Wing stood out for its outstanding reputation for maternity care.

The main reason we chose the Lindo Wing was for safety, essentially for safety and the quality of care. We wanted somewhere we felt completely confident in and we were not disappointed at all.

Expert care, every step of the way

From the very first appointment, I felt reassured by the depth of knowledge and foresight shown by our consultant, Dr Lorin Lakasing. For every single appointment, it was like Dr Lakasing knew what was coming next. She was always one step ahead.

That level of expertise makes such a difference. You feel safe, you feel listened to and you trust the care you’re receiving. I felt as though everything was clearly explained and my pregnancy was supported with care.

Just everybody here is fantastic. Caring yet professional, I don’t know how they manage to do both so well, but they do.

Carmel and Elisa were amazing midwives and lovely people, and Poppy helped me to establish my milk supply, which is something I had struggled with previously. That support meant so much to me, I didn’t think I’d be able to do it this time, but with the help I received, I did.

A place Anna chose for her second pregnancy

For me, it made all the difference to be cared for by a team that I could trust, especially with a complex pregnancy.

I hope I’m lucky enough to have another pregnancy and be able to do it all again. That’s how positive the experience has been.
